Question from YUWA: What strives does the Government and CSOs need to make Vision 2030 a reality in Nepal and what role can youth play in it?

Answer: Government and CSOs needs to unveil that the menstruation is complex and multifaceted phenomenon that needs holistic approach `menstrual dignity’ to address it. Menstrual Discrimination (taboos, stigma, shyness, restriction, discrimination, violence) are the form of gender based violence and violation of human right. The nine SDGs goals directly linked with menstrual dignity. Therefore, all actors should redefine their strategies to make vision 2030 a reality in Nepal where `Dignified Menstruation’ as cross cutting issue.

The language is important to shape our mind set and behavior therefore government and CSOs should focus on `menstrual talk, dignity first’ while working around the menstrual activism. The activities silos on products, hygiene and infrastructure are an important element of menstrual dignity but merely address the overarching goal of gender equality, justice, prosperity and peace. And only youth should accountable for it by crossing the floor of their politics or connection for becoming role models to our future.
