Sincere Apology: Let's call Menstruation

For last few years, I have been advocating for avoiding the use of word  `Chhauapdi’ which means menstruation in local Achhami language. I learned it from UNICEF office at UN office, Pulchock, Lalitpur while I was doing my thesis for my bachelor of nursing in 1997/1998. I use this word for years. Later, while I was working/researching all around the country and beyond, I confirmed that I am doing wrong. Sincere apology for it. I apologize almost all programs, trainings, media and I also do here as well. In Nepal, I identified more than 50 euphemisms for menstruation and over 5000 reported globally. According to the resolution motion on dignified menstruation 21 March 2025 also appealed for it. In this blog, I uploaded few photos/information in past. These are visible forms of menstrual discrimination indeed. All around the globe, menstrual discrimination is existed with different name, forms and magnitude. Therefore, it is not a traditional harmful practice as well.
