 1. Please use menstrual discrimination and GBV. 

Currently the UN data doesn't acknowledge menstrual discrimination as a form of GBV. According to the UN's definition of GBV (1993) the menstrual discrimination (taboos, stigma, shyness, violence, abuse, deprivation from services and resources) is not only a form of GBV but also the forms of GBV.

I visited  to Muktinath temple twice. About 19 years ago, I brought my father there. It was dream of my mother. I could not bring her due to her health condition (asthma) though I even plan for helicopter. Anyways, my father, my miteri sister Radha Pandey, and Gyan Kumari Bastakoti (Mother in law of Anupa Regmi). We rode micro bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara, flew from Pokhara to Jomsom and walked from Jomsom, Kagbeni and Muktinath.

Journey of Menstrual Dignity, from Canada and Swizerland to Jumla

I went to Jumla after Long gap. I promised to visit Jumla at least once in a year. I visited in September 2022 so have to go in September 2023. I had planned to go. I received the message that I would invite by Action Works Nepal for marking International Peace Day, September 21. I was waited and waited even by cancellation of trip to pad factory in Chitwan but I didn't received any message. I always busy of Global South Coalition for Dignified Menstruation's work. I planned to go during the baseline survey but I couldn't make it due to 5th International Dignified Menstruation Day. Additionally, I had health issue when I was returning from Bajhyang.  

Thank you Green Tara Nepal for this opportunity and working for Dignity Project of Women in Bajhyang and Bajura. For faith healers, it was follow up meeting whereas other groups were new ( I facilitated a day workshop with faith healers an exactly a year back in Pokhara). It was sad that there was little change in 2 years of implementation of projects regards to dignified menstruation. Many of them including journalists, women political leaders and other frontline workers did not know about menstruation, menstrual discrimination and dignified menstruation. In other words many of them are practicing sets of menstrual discrimination. Few journalists and women leaders shared that they can't practice the dignified menstruation publicly. And few of them also manifested a corrupt attitude while claiming the money against transport and daily allowances. Despite challenges, Green Tara Nepal is trying its best and few changes observed too though long way to go.

पौष १६ गते, प्युठानको येराबती गाउपलिकाको गाउ सभाको निर्णय ` बाल बिबाहको सूचना दिनेलाई २५ हजार रपैया पुरस्कार’ को निर्णय घरबारीको आगो झैँ सबै किसिमका पत्रिकाहरुमा फैलियो |  त्यसको केहि दिन अघि मात्र मुटु नै कमाउने बाल बिबाहको अवस्था  (`जोखिमको भुंग्रोमा कलिला आमा, कान्तिपुर,पौष १४ गते, २०८० र  २१ प्रतिशत गर्भवती बालिका, नागरिक, पौष १५ २०८०)  प्रकाशित भएका थिए  | दुर्भाग्य, सार्बजनिक खपतका लागि , प्रकृयामा काम गर्न नपर्ने, सजिलो उपायहरु खोज्छौ  किनभने हामी यस्ता घटनामा जहिले पनि अभिभाबक अझै किशोरीहरुलाई दोष दिन्छौ | तर दोष यस्तो निर्णय गर्ने जनप्रतिनिधि, यस्तो निर्णयको पक्षमा वकालत गर्ने गैसकर्मी वा अधिकारकर्मी हौ जो बाल बिबाह अन्त्यका लागि प्रत्यक्ष वा अप्रत्यक्ष जोडिएका र जिम्मेबार छौ |

गएको साता दुइ रास्ट्रिय समाचारमा एकै प्रकृतिक  (`जोखिमको भुंग्रोमा कलिला आमा, कान्तिपुर,पौष १४ गते, २०८० र  २१ प्रतिशत गर्भवती बालिका, नागरिक, पौष १५ २०८०)  समाचार प्रकाशित भए | बाल बिबाहका सन्दर्भमा प्रकाशित भएको घटना भने पहिलो पक्कै होइन | बाल बिबाहका घटनामा जहिले पनि हामी जनतालाई अझै किशोरीहरुलाई दोष दिन्छौ | तर दोष हाम्रो छ जो बाल बिबाह अन्त्यका लागि प्रत्यक्ष वा अप्रत्यक्ष जोडिएका छौ |

लुम्बिनी प्रदेश सभा सचिवालयले निजामतीले पाउने बिदा अन्तर्गत `महिनावारी बिदा’ घोषणा गरेपछि `महिनावारी बिदा’ राम्रो कि नराम्रो भन्ने बहसले सदियौ देखि लाज मानिएको, सार्बजनिक रुपमा बोल्न नसकिएको  `महिनावारी’ शब्दले सार्बजनिक वृतमा स्थान प्राप्त गरेको छ | तर  `महिनावारी बिदा’ ले `महिनावारी विभेद’लाई झन् बढावा गरेको छ, मलजल गरेको छ | अझ भनौ महिनावारी विभेदलाई राज्यका तर्फबाट सस्थागत गरेको छ | यसो भन्दै गर्दा महिनावारी बिदा चाहिन्छ भन्ने वा महिनावारीका समयमा गाह्रो हुने साथीहरुलाई चित्त दुख्नु, रिस उठ्नु स्वाभाविक नै हो | म बिशेष गरेर महिनावारी हुदै तथा  महिनावारी सुक्दै गर्दा र सुकिसकेपछी गम्भीर समस्या भोग्नेहरू प्रति समानुभुती राख्दै उहाहरु लगायत समष्टिमा `महिनावारी बिदा’  किन र कसरी विभेद हो भन्ने कुरा उल्लेख गर्ने अनुमति चाहन्छु |
