The Proposed Activities for Focusing on May 28, 2017

 First my sincere apology for not able to participate in meeting as well as not responding earlier. My life is running with activism on menstrual rights 24/7 so I determined to write back to you all even late. However, I believed that we are not much delay. Today is May 7 means we have enough time.

बोल्ने चराको कथा

मैले आकाशमा चराहरु उडेको देखेर लोभ, रिस , जिज्ञासा र मनोरन्जन सबै अनुभुब गर्थे। कहिलेकाही सपनामा चरा भएको देख्थे त कहिलेकही बिपनमा सपना देख्थे । एही कौतुहलतामा बहकिदै गर्दा कुनै आकार प्रकार नदेखिने तर घुहुघुहु घुहुघुहु आबाज लिएर आकाशमा दौदिएहेको सुने र आमलाई सोधे आमा के दौदिन्छ आकाशमा ? आमाले जबाफ दिनु वो जहाज। गर्मी महिनमा आगन्मा उत्तानो सुतेर ताराहरु गन्दै गर्दा, चिप्लिएर आकाशबाट खस्ने ताराहरु हेदै गर्दा, आबाज पछी पछी पिलिक पिलिक  बत्ती   अघी अघी   बाल्दै तेही ताराहरुकै उचाइमा उदिरहेको देख्न पाउदा साह्रै नै रमाइलो लाग्दथ्यो। कहिले कही मैले देख दिलो गरे वा ताराहरु सँग झुक्किएर देखिन भने कती दु:ख लाग्दथ्यो। आमाले भन्नु हुन्थ्यो - तैले उहिले मामाघर जादा जहाज चडेकि छस । मलाई एक मन रमाइलो लग्थ्यो अनी अर्को मन नरमैलो । मैले जहाज चडेको किन सम्झिन्न होला भनेर आँफै देखी रिस पो उट्थ्यो तर जे गरे पनि पटक्कै सम्झिन्नथे ।

The Dark Side of My Peace Journey

Due to my personal background, I do not have anything in public till mid 2012 though I am working socially since childhood. I engaged fund raising program since primary school through Junior Red Cross Circle. Since 1994, I voluntarily taught the children of sweepers and doctors at Bharatpur hospital. I also started to work in NGO as voluntarily since 1995. I was a member of NGO from 1997. My passion and commitment is constantly moving as my mental, physical, financial status allows. I also started to write poems and stories from school and got various levels of awards. My poem published in campus magazine in 1992 as well as article published in 2002. However, before 2012, nothing available in public, I always focused in action rather dissemination of news. One of the reason is not having access to with media and others.  I was recognised nationally and internationally from 2012 mostly non-monetary awards. Indeed, I do not work for awards, I work for cause, I always thinking and working for saving A DAUGHTER.

Short Filming is Vehicle for Harmony and PEACE

A days training on short filming is organized by the Radha Paudel Foundation in partnership with Action Works Nepal, PACE Nepal and RACE Nepal, at hotel Kanjirowa, Jumla, dated on 10-18 April, 2017 where participants come from Mugu, Kalikot and Jumla where seven participants were female and rest of them male. The participants from Mugu came from Bhi High School which just bordering village of Humla and Bajura. They are four girls and boys. Likewise, the four participants joined from Kalikot who belong from school, journalism, and NGO. The rest of the participants (#12) came from Jumla who are working as journalist, NGO worker, studying in school, college.

·    1979, Mother and Neighborhood, know and learned about menstruation when I was 7 years, witnessed all procedures of Rishipanchami and abuses and restrictions among my sisters in shed. Determined to fight against it and broke the family law by ran away from house when I was at grade 10 or 14 years old.

Myths, Rumours, Misconceptions around Menstruation

I have been working around menstrual hygiene and rights since childhood. I have very long and interesting stories on how and why I engaged. I have identified various forms of restrictions,myths, misconceptions though like to share here. Hope you  will like this.

Abstract: The menstruation is biological phenomena and each woman experience in their lifetime. It is heavily ignored by international human rights declarations and also found same in the national level. MHM (Menstrual Health Management)/MR (Menstrual Rights) is confined under Chhaupadi that doesn't represent all forms of restrictions and locations where and what girls and women practicing. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Nepalese Constitution 2015 and Chhaupadi guidelines are critical documents in current discussion for MHM/MR to understand the position as well as explore the role of each actors around it.
